Carmelcrest delivered the Measured Term Contract for Anglia Ruskin University, covering a rolling programme of refurbishment works to student accommodation and wider university infrastructure. The contract was designed to provide a reliable and responsive partner to support the University with essential upgrades and improvements across its estate.
The primary challenge was delivering a large volume of works within a limited timeframe. All projects were scheduled during the summer break to avoid disruption to students and teaching, leaving just a short window for completion. This required meticulous planning, accelerated programmes, and the ability to mobilise significant resources at pace.
Carmelcrest worked in close collaboration with the University’s estates team to phase and coordinate the programme. Labour and supply chains were scaled to meet the demand, and works were delivered under strict quality controls to ensure both speed and standards were maintained. Clear communication with the client ensured progress was monitored and adjustments were made swiftly when required.
The accelerated works were successfully completed within the summer recess, ready for the return of students in September. The University benefitted from modernised facilities delivered on time, to specification, and without disruption to university activity.
