Carmelcrest were appointed by Wokingham Council to deliver the ASPIRE project, a scheme designed to create a dedicated vocational learning centre for young people aged 11–18. The facility was developed to provide a diverse range of learning environments, including mock courtrooms, soundproof music pods, kitchen classrooms, an IT centre, and a series of supporting classrooms and infrastructure.
The project required the transformation of an open warehouse shell into a fully functional, modern learning facility. This included installation of a mezzanine floor structure, full M&E installation, new fit out and finishes, passenger lift installation, FF&E design and installation, as well as supporting fabric modification.
The FF&E design and installation was integral to the project, and collaboration with the Council and education stakeholders ensured the spaces were tailored to meet the specific needs of the end users.
The project delivered a high-quality, purpose-built vocational learning environment that has had a lasting positive impact on the local community.
