Overview

Carmelcrest were appointed to carry out the refurbishment of the Olympic Velodrome. The project involved the refit of the ground floor, including new office pods, as well as the full refurbishment of the upper-level café facility.

Challenges

As part of the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic Games, the Velodrome is a world-class venue that remains highly prestigious. It was therefore essential that works were carried out to an exceptional standard while ensuring the safety of the public and avoiding disruption to building users.

Our Approach

Carmelcrest’s in-house fit out specialists worked closely with the on-site client representative to coordinate activities around the operational hours of the venue. Works included:

  • Design and installation of a bespoke café bar
  • Refurbishment of lighting, power, and toilet facilities
  • New partitions, ceilings, flooring, and decorations
  • Fire door installations and fire stopping measures throughout

Outcomes

The refurbishment was delivered to a very high standard, enhancing facilities while maintaining seamless operation of the venue.
