Carmelcrest were appointed by Cambridge City Council to undertake the refurbishment of a flagship pool facility, involving the complete strip out and transformation of the existing changing areas. The scheme introduced new disabled facilities, a “no-shoe zone,” and modern vanity areas with mirrored finishes, significantly improving the user experience.
The project had a restricted budget, condensed programme and the requirement to keep disruption to a minimum. Delivery coincided with the Christmas period, creating further logistical and resourcing pressures.
To achieve completion within just nine weeks, Carmelcrest developed a detailed delivery programme and committed to extended working hours throughout the contract. Success was underpinned by close collaboration with Cambridge City Council, ensuring potential risks were identified early and resolved proactively.
The project providing modernised, high-quality facilities for the Council’s flagship leisure venue. The quality of the project overall finish was commended by the client.
“Carmelcrest have been a pleasure to work with… flexibility and commitment ensured the project was successfully completed within a tight timeline and on budget. We are very pleased with the quality throughout and look forward to working with them in the future.”
