Carmelcrest worked in partnership with Surrey & Sussex Police to deliver their Agile Working Programme at Staines Police Station. The project involved the complete transformation of office, gym and washroom facilities to create a modern, flexible working environment that reflects the operational needs of the force.
The works were carried out within a live, fully operational police station, requiring a highly flexible approach to ensure day-to-day policing activities were not disrupted. Security and discretion were critical to success, with strict access protocols in place. All members of the Carmelcrest workforce were DBS and NPPV Level 2 vetted prior to commencement.
Carmelcrest refurbished the Sergeants’ office space and transformed traditional offices into open-plan agile working areas designed to encourage collaboration and flexibility. The project also involved the remodelling of the staff gym, changing areas, and locker rooms to improve wellbeing facilities for officers and staff. In addition, comprehensive M&E upgrades and new data cabling installations were delivered across several levels of the building, ensuring the infrastructure was modern, reliable, and fit for future use.
Through careful phasing, close collaboration, and a security-first approach, Carmelcrest successfully delivered the Agile Working Programme without impacting police operations. The project has provided Surrey & Sussex Police with modernised, flexible facilities that support staff wellbeing, encourage collaborative working, and improve operational efficiency.
