Carmelcrest were appointed by Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the state-of-the-art refurbishment of their Radiology department. The project required significant technical expertise and careful planning to ensure the continued operation of the hospital while upgrading critical diagnostic facilities.
The scheme involved the full refurbishment of the CT Scanner Room, including associated incoming supplies, fit out works and installation of specialist CT scanner equipment.
The works were delivered in a live healthcare environment where patient care remained the top priority. To ensure minimal disruption, Carmelcrest implemented a series of measures including out-of-hours working, off-peak material deliveries, and carefully phased programmes. Full clinical segregation of works was maintained at all times to safeguard staff, patients, and visitors. All operatives were DBS-checked and managed by an SMSTS-accredited site team.
The project was successfully delivered to a high standard, providing the Trust with a modernised, fully compliant CT facility. The scheme demonstrates Carmelcrest’s ability to combine technical delivery with sensitivity to the challenges of live clinical environments.
